Who will service my policy?

GlobalHealth Asia Ltd., a specialist provider of private international medical insurance, will provide all client and policy administration services. GlobalHealth Asia has offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City.  GlobalHealth Asia has been serving individuals, families and companies across Asia and beyond since 1996.

Who insures Mega International Health Care Plans?

Mega International Health Care Plans are underwritten by PT. Asuransi Umum Mega.  PT. Asuransi Umum Mega was legally established in 2004, formerly known as PT. Asuransi Republik.  The name changed after CT Corp through PT. Mega Corpora (dh. PT. Para Global Investindo) and PT. Para Rekan Investama as a new majority shareholder agreed to infuse a significant amount of capital. To date, the company employs more than 350 employees, operating in 27 branches across Indonesia.

What makes Mega International Health Care different to other international plans?

As an expatriate or local national residing in Asia, you need quick and responsive service.  GlobalHealth Asia maintains service centres across Asia to provide you with customer support wherever and whenever you need it.  For Indonesian residents, Mega International Health Care is insured by PT. Asuransi Umum Mega, a locally admitted international insurer, offering greater onshore protetion.  Mega International Health Care offers maximum flexibility in the form of premium and cover selections, meaning you will always enjoy quality health insurance cover while maintaining control over your budget. Mega International Health Care does not discriminate over health conditions, unlike other providers who limit chronic conditions cover.  The policy will cover accidents, emergencies, chronic or acute conditions up to the limits of the policy.

Will I be penalized if I submit a large claim?

No. If you submit a large claim as an individual, you will not suffer any large rating increase as a result of your claim.  The plans are portfolio rated.

Does the plan impose any age limits?

You may renew your policy for life.  New applicants should be aged 65 or under.

How are my premiums calculated?

Mega International Health Care offers published premiums based on gender and age.  The plan also offers several cover modules, each with their own unique features, meaning you can choose the cover you have based on the budget you need.  Choose your options to create your own plan and then look up the rate according to your gender and age.  

How does this medical insurance plan make my life easier?

We offer you complete service to manage any claim or health condition.  As a GlobalHealth client with a nil deductible policy, you can enjoy cashless access to any clinic on our Out-patient Direct Billing network, meaning you do not need to pay when receiving treatment.  GlobalHealth's relationships with hospitals around the world means you can also have your hospital bills paid on your behalf.

How can I submit my claims?

We offer several methods for submitting your claims.  You may fax, email or mail your claims to PT. Asuransi Umum's Jakarta office.  

Will the plan cover me when I am outside of my usual country of residence?

Yes. Mega International Health Care offers out of area cover either on a fully worldwide basis or worldwide excluding U.S.A.. You will be covered up to the limits of your policy in your area of cover.  Also, all policies come with full evacuation and repatriation cover, meaning that you will be evacuated and have transport costs covered if you fall ill or have an accident in a place where medical services are not acceptable.

What are the plan's cover limits?

Mega International Health Care will offer maximum cover up to US$2.5 million per year on the best plan, Comprehensive.  Within the plan's modules, all general hospital, surgery and pre and post admission expenses are fully covered.  Some treatments such as psychiatric care or alternative medicine do have some sub-limits which are lower or higher depending on which cover modules you select.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

Yes, some pre-existing conditions may by covered and may require a premium loading or a cap on benefits.  We believe this is a more straightforward and honest approach than offering a pre-existing "waiting period / moratorium" for which the majority of policyholders never qualify.

How do I enrol?

Please complete an application form and a medical questionnaire.  A medical questionnaire must be completed for each person to be covered by the policy.  Speak with your insurance intermediary to assist you with this process or download forms from our website www.globalhealthasia.com.
