UniversalHealth 100 is a protection product that pays for medical expenses incurred in the event of accidental injuries or illness as well as chronic conditions, on a worldwide basis, up to age 100.  UniversalHealth100 provides coverage for hospitalisation and surgical treatment, and with options to add out-patient and dental cover.  The UniversalHealth 100 is underwritten by Zurich Life Insurance Company Ltd., part of the Zurich Financial Services Group, the world’s largest Swiss insurance-based financial services provider. 

As of 1 January 2014, UniversalHealth 100 is not available for new business.

  • The core plan, Plan 1, provides Hospitalisation & Surgical benefits up to an annual limit of HK$10 million which includes private room cover, full cover for cancer and chronic conditions. 
  • Groups with 5 employees or more have a choice of Plan 2 which includes semi-private room cover and Plan 3 which includes ward room cover.
  • All UniversalHealth 100 plans include emergency evacuation and repatriation up to HK$4,000,000 per event. You will also have access to 24x7 emergency medical and travel assistance anywhere in the world.
  • Cancer Treatment is fully reimbursable for in-patient, day patient, and out-patient
  • Life Insurance Coverage of HK$10,000 is included at no additional cost.

Optional Benefits

Enhance your cover by selecting any of the following options, in any combination that you wish. 

Out-patient Cover

  • You may choose to increase your level of protection by adding optional out-patient benefits which provides full cover for physicians and specialists.
  • Traditional Chinese medicine and treatments, including Chinese herbalist, bonesetter and acupuncture are included with the Optional Out-Patient Benefits.

Dental

  • The UniversalHealth 100 dental plan provides cover for routine dental treatment up to HK$5,700 and major restorative dental work up to HK$12,000 per Policy Year.
  • Except or Examinations and Tooth Cleaning, there is a waiting period of 3 months from the commencement date for routine dental treatment.
  • A six month waiting period applies for major restorative dental work.

Annual Deductible

Lower your premiums by taking out an Annual Deductible (applicable to the Hospitalisation Benefits and Optional Out-Patient Benefits) of either HK$2,000 or HK$5,000.

Area of Cover

All plans cover you on a worldwide basis.  Enjoy a premium saving by selecting an area of cover that excludes North America and the Caribbean.  With a worldwide excluding North America and the Caribbean, you will still have protection for losses arising from Sudden Illness or Accidental Injury which occurs in North America and the Caribbean during the first 30 Travel Days of any Policy Year. 

Out-patient Direct Billing Network

For policies without a deductible, enjoy out-patient direct billing access to over 2,000 medical providers in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and the rest of Asia by simply showing your GlobalHealth member card.

  • Pre-existing conditions unless accepted at underwriting
  • Cosmetic treatment
  • Routine medical exams, vaccinations, vitamins and supplements
  • Tests or treatments relating to fertility, pregnancy, childbirth or abortion
  • Treatment of Mental and Nervous Conditions
  • Illness arising from AIDs/HIV
  • Refractive defects of the eye
